A month or so ago, I went on a posting tirade about how the movie Batman and Robin would have been much more popular had it come out in the post-tumblr world.   Then last week I went to Sync Space and saw the premier of a 32 min film called Spectrum Hunter. Based on the surreal landscapes and puzzle narratives of laserdisc games from the early 90s, but delivering more than just aesthetics. Some real commentary, you know? Anyway, it is hardly the director’s intention to be a post-tumblr movie. But I’m a fan of sincere compliments dressed as derogatory statements, so there you go. A post-tumblr movie. And it fucking rules. It is screening again at Sync Space this Sat, but I’ve also picked up a bunch of copies of the DVD for my webstore. I highly recommend it!
